The effectiveness of play therapy according levy approach in reduction of anxiety in children with diagnosed cancer

Abstract:

Abstract Introduction: The diagnosis of cancer may create considerable psychological distress between children and their families. Studies indicated that anxiety is the most side effect conditions among kids with cancer. Play therapy has a special conclusion in psychotherapy approaches for children. Objective: The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of play therapy according levy approach to condense anxiety among two kids with leukemia. Methods: This research was performed on only 2 kid's diagnosed leukemia. A framework of single subject designed with single baseline in 8 session play therapy according to Levy approach for one month follow-up period. Data collections were performed by reviewing kid's anxiety scale (RCMAS). Data analyzing was carried out using visual analysis of enhancement. Results: There was vital decrease of anxiety by play therapy according levy approach in kid's diagnosed cancer, also the result maintain the same after one month of action. Conclusion: The results indicated that play therapy could influence on anxiety among kids diagnosed leukemia.
